are collected at the County and Municipal levels for persons owning and operating businesses in the State of Florida. Businesses are also required to file with the State of Florida (SunBiz). In Seminole County, BTRs are filed with the County Tax Collector, J.R. Kroll's office. For the City of Winter Springs, BTRs are file with the City at City Hall.
In the research conducted, it was found that Commissioners Mark Caruso, Victoria Colangelo/Bruce, Paul Diaz, and Dep. Mayor Cade Resnick are operating businesses within the City of Winter Springs WITHOUT PAYING FOR A BUSINESS TAX RECEIPT.
They are also in violation of NOT having a BTR for the County of Seminole.
All four of them have been in business in Winter Springs for a period of time BEFORE BEING ELECTED, and had not filed. Someone really needs to take action against them, why should those honest businesses pay the tax and not Commissioners???
